Sirob and Aadelle — Boolean Netscape Remix
A nerdy creator and his digital puppet trade places across the real and the virtual — my earliest dance-and-technology work, and the origin of a practice that still drives everything I make.

Sirob and Aadelle sets a live performer against a digital puppet, the two of them testing the possibilities and the limits of the real and digital worlds. The piece ran live from a board driving a Netscape browser and the Cosmo Player VRML plugin, with the figure animated in real time through John Simmons' Project Adel tool.
It set the question I'm still working on: what passes between the body and its data? Performed at the Center for the Arts Concert Hall in Fairfax, Virginia.
